“From Algorithms to Better Health Outcomes: Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Human-Centered Health Communication”

이번 강연은 AI 기술이 보건 커뮤니케이션을 어떻게 변화시키고 있는지,
그리고 커뮤니케이션 과학이 인간 중심의 AI 통합을 어떻게 이끌 수 있는지를 탐구하는 자리입니다.

→ 유럽을 대표하는 헬스 커뮤니케이션 연구자 중 한 분으로,
AI 기반 도구들이 환자 위험 예측, 임상 의사결정 지원, 디지털 상담 준비 등 다양한 영역에서
어떻게 활용되고 있는지를 연구하고 계십니다.

특히 ChatGPT와 같은 생성형 AI의 임상 현장 적용,
AI와 인간 간의 신뢰 조정(calibrated trust),
AI의 윤리적·사회적 함의 등 첨단 이슈를 실제 연구 사례를 통해 다룰 예정입니다.

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 12:15 PM,
the Department of Communication at Yonsei University will host an international academic seminar featuring
Professor Julia C. M. van Weert (University of Amsterdam)
under the theme:

“From Algorithms to Better Health Outcomes: Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Human-Centered Health Communication.”

This lecture will explore how AI technologies are transforming health communication,
and how communication science can guide the human-centered integration of AI.

Professor van Weert
([https://www.uva.nl/profiel/w/e/j.c.m.vanweert/j.c.m.vanweert.html])
is one of Europe’s leading scholars in health communication,
conducting research on how AI-based tools are applied across domains such as
patient risk prediction, clinical decision support, and digital consultation preparation.

She will also address cutting-edge topics—including the clinical application of generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT),
calibration of trust between AI and humans, and ethical and social implications of AI—through concrete research examples.
