Purpose
- Identification of joint research opportunities including a Horizon application
- Explore joint initiatives for PhD training opportunities, including exploring possibilities for dual PhDs, research visits and/or trainings
- Identify possibilities for additional educational and/or staff-level exchange
1. Pilot Exchange of staff members (with Assistant/Associate/Full Professors)
- One scholar is identified per institute (i.e., one Yonsei scholar, one ASCoR scholar)
- Yonsei-side host will apply for the YFL program ("Yonsei University Frontier Program for Hosting Outstanding Scholars" program, up to EUR 6700), and part of the YFL fund will be used to finance the visit of the ASCoR scholar to Yonsei (hereafter ASCoR recipient). The visit of the ASCoR scholar to Yonsei will be of at least two weeks (in total) per requirement of YFL program.
- The ASCoR recipient will secure research and conference funding from ASCoR (~ EUR 4500), and part of that fund will be used to finance the visit of the Yonsei scholar to ASCoR.
2. Pilot PhD exchange program
- ASCoR PhDs can use their elective training budget (EUR 2500) to do a research visit at Yonsei
- Yonsei PhDs can use Yonsei’s International collaboration fund I (국문명: 대학원혁신 학문후속세대 국제공동연구사업 유형1, up to EUR 2000) to do a research visit at ASCoR
- Visiting PhD candidate from each institution is responsible for finding appropriate housing (e.g., hotel) for the period, using a share of the funds.
