For those planning to submit a master's thesis:
Students select their thesis advisor after completing the second semester. The assignment of primary thesis advisors for master’s theses takes students’ preferred advisors into account as much as possible, but as a general rule, no advisor may supervise more than three students per semester (excluding cases where a student takes a leave of absence, returns to school, or has their thesis defense postponed or retaken).
-
Students planning to submit a master’s thesis must submit a “Thesis Proposal” to their advisor and the department chair before the end of the third semester; the department chair will then notify the student of the proposal’s acceptance or rejection. Only students who have passed the master’s comprehensive exam will be eligible to write their thesis in the fourth semester.
-
Those who have qualified to write a thesis*At the beginning of the fourth semester, students are assigned a thesis advisor and a co-advisor, and they undergo a preliminary review (open) and a final review (closed) during that semester or thereafter. Students planning to submit their thesis must submit a copy of the thesis for the preliminary review to the Graduate Program Chair and the department office seven days prior to the review date set by the department. At that time, You must obtain approval from your advisor before submitting your thesis; if you fail to meet the submission deadline, you will not be eligible for evaluation.
-
The final defense may be conducted by the advisor, either together with the co-examiners or individually, within the deadline set by the department. The final defense manuscript must be submitted to the advisor and co-examiners seven days prior to the date of the final defense. A plagiarism check report must be submitted along with the manuscripts for both the preliminary and final defenses.
-
For those planning to submit a doctoral dissertation:

A research proposal must be submitted one semester prior to the preliminary review. However, academic evaluation requirements must be met before the end of the fourth semester.**Only students who meet these requirements are eligible to write a thesis. Beginning in the fifth semester, the “Thesis Proposal” is reviewed, and students undergo a preliminary review (closed to the public) and a final review (closed to the public) in the presence of the review committee.
